I'm not going to spoil him for you, but I strongly recommend you have a team of level 2 heroes (the highest you're allowed to use against him) with good trinkets. In my book, this boss is definitely harder than the bosses in the regular areas. All of the Courtyard bosses do not fuck around, to be honest. Until you defeat the first Courtyard boss, you will not contract the Crimson Curse outside of the Courtyard area the Blood is a specific resource used to keep characters afflicted with the Crimson Curse alive. Blood's gathered like busts, crests, scrolls and portraits, and there's also a District that produces two vials of Blood a week. Unlike heirlooms, Blood will appear in the provisions screen and can be taken into dungeons. Cursed characters will need blood whether they're in the dungeon or back at the hamlet. Killing the Baron, Viscount or Countess bosses will remove the Curse from everyone in your roster. In other words, you need to bump each one of these bosses off when too many of your heroes have the Curse, otherwise you risk having people starve to death, or worse, having an encounter with a certain somebody. One other thing to note is that if you leave one of the Courtyard's "epic" length dungeons, you can re-enter and pick up where you left off next week. TLDR, my opinion is to start a new file with the Court activated once you are feeling confident in the game. You technically spoiled that there even IS a boss. The game does not say it's a boss, so clearly it is not a boss and not scary. The thing to keep in mind is that the Court itself is not that overwhelming.
